Tutoring is available for academy students in all subjects. Volunteer tutors from Cal State L.A. and Raytheon will be here to help students as well as answer questions about college and careers. See Mr. Santos in Room 192 for details

Activity: PIASC Academic/Technical Decathlon Finals & Career Fair
Place: Fullerton College
Time: 9:00am - 2:00pm

ISTA has qualified for the finals of the Printing Industries Association of Southern California Academic/Technical Decathlon. This years finalist include Garfield, Redondo, El Camino and Venice high schools. 84 academy students will be chosen to attend this event based on their academic achievement. This years finals team is composed of Yolanda Urbina, Jesse Fiorinni and Angelina Gonzalez. The academy has been victoious twice before in 1997 and in 2001.

The event will also have a career fair where students will be able to meet with college representatives as well as businesses.

The annual printing trade show, the Gutenberg Festival is scheduled to take place at the Long Beach Convention Center on June 17th through the 19th. ISTA Students may attend this activity on thier own.

Barbeque to thank and recognize our students who attended tutoring on Saturdays and their tutors as well as recognition of seniors completing 2+4+C program.

This year's graduation will take place at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. A ticket is required to attend this event.

Place: Los Angeles City Hall
Time: 9:45am

City Council will recognize the Academy and its achievements at the City Council meeting at 9:45 am. The recognition is by council members Tony Cardenas and Jan Perry.

Activity: ISTA students leave for U.S. Coast Guard Academy AIM Program
Place: U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Conn.
Time: Leave: July 9. 2004, Return: July 16,2004

Five ISTA students will spend the week at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. All five students received scholarships to attend this week-long experience.
