Raytheon-HISNET Provide Tutoring for Academy Students
On Saturday, May 15th Raytheon-HISNET pioneered a new program at Manual Arts High School which will assist our present saturday volunteer staff in tutoring academy students in math and science. The first meeting consisted of 12 students and 5 Raytheon tutors. Students asked for help in Math, Chemistry, Physics Social Studies and English. Some students came just to learn a little more about engineering. Tutoring is available to academy students through June 19th and will tentatively start again July 17th and run through August 21st. Having Raytheon employees tutor our students allows them to experience other methods and see other points of veiw.
The academy students enjoyed the opportunity of meeting with their Raytheon tutors. With Raytheon coming on board to help, many students feel it will stimulate interest in other students to get help in their classes as well.
